UK Postcode Areas map of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (MM)
One of our best-sellers, this is a very useful UK wall map for overall business planning, displaying the Postcode Area boundaries in red plus the County and Unitary Authority boundaries in dark green.
Postcode areas are the letters or letter in the first part of the postcode such as GU (Guildford), RG (Reading), SL (Slough), B (Birmingham) or M (Manchester) etc.
If you need to see more detailed postcodes from this publisher you will need either Postcode District or Postcode Sector maps. For additional reference, on the map there is a separate list of all the UK Postcode Areas, showing the letters and the name of each area's main postal town or city.
The publisher also provides by means of an information box on the map, detailed definitions of the different levels of Postcode detail and how they are structured. The information is very up to date, this map is updated and reprinted each year.
To make it easy to read the base map is black and white with national parks coloured in pale green. Considering the map covers the whole of the UK it has very good coverage of towns, cities and even larger villages. The population of the towns and cities is shown by small circles or squares next to the location name, the size and shape of each indicate the population range from 2,000 to over 1 million inhabitants. The map legend also contains an explanation of these symbols.
An inset shows the area within the M25 at a more detailed scale of 4 miles to 1 inch displaying the postcodes more effectively within this highly populated area. Motorways and primary 'A' roads are also on the map but very much in the background, the primary emphasis is the postcode area and county boundaries.

This map is available in various finishes from paper or laminated to framed. Click here for more information. The laminated version allows you to write on, wipe off with dry or wet wipe pens. Framed versions are available ready to hang on your wall, choices are light or dark wood, black wood, aluminium, or magnetic for use with magnetic map pins.
In addition to these standard finishes, the publisher has also produced a wallpaper version of this map. You don't use standard wallpaper paste or any water, the map has a backing paper which is removed to reveal a self-adhesive surface, and when placing the map on the wall it can be repositioned without damaging the map or the wall. This wallpaper map is made with a tough patented fabric which will stick to any non-porous flat surface and will also remove easily without leaving any residue. The paint will not be removed from a primed wall and the map can be applied over existing wallpaper. It is made of a very robust material which means the map will be applied to the wall without wrinkles and will not rip.
This standard sized wall map is also available in a larger Super-Sized version.
