This map of the Middle East and the surrounding area is published by Harper Collins.

The area covered is west to Albania, east to Ahmadabad, north to Sebastopol and south to Addis Ababa.

There are a couple of more detailed map insets at a scale of 1: 1,250,000 (approx 20 miles to 1 inch) the first covering the area of Egypt including Cairo, Alexandria and Port Said, and the other map inset covers Israel and the immediate surrounding area.

The map has an attractive mix of physical relief detail which includes rivers and canals, together with roads, towns and cities, plus airports also including international and local administrative boundaries.

Additionally, the towns and cities are shown with nine different population bands.

The following countries are shown in their entirety: Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Djibouti, Egypt, Georgia, Greece, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Turkey, Turkmenistan, UAE and Yemen.

This map is available in various finishes from laminated to framed. Click here for more information. The laminated version allows you to write on, wipe off with dry or wet wipe pens. Framed versions are available ready to hang on your wall, choices are light or dark wood, black wood, aluminium, or magnetic for use with magnetic map pins.

In addition to these standard finishes, the publisher has also produced a wallpaper version of this map. You don't use standard wallpaper paste or any water, the map has a backing paper which is removed to reveal a self-adhesive surface, and when placing the map on the wall it can be repositioned without damaging the map or the wall. This wallpaper map is made with a tough patented fabric which will stick to any non-porous flat surface and will also remove easily without leaving any residue. Paint will not be removed from a primed wall and the map can be applied over existing wallpaper. It is made of a very robust material which means the map will be applied to the wall without wrinkles and will not rip. Note that the wallpaper map image is not of this map.
